How Shopify fees work in Poland
Selling on Shopify in Poland means three separate costs eat into every order, and it is easy to under-count them. This calculator brings them together so you see real profit per unit, not just the headline margin on your product.
- Subscription: a fixed monthly plan fee, spread across the orders you actually take.
- Payment processing: a percentage of each sale plus a small fixed fee, charged by Shopify Payments or your gateway.
- Third-party transaction fee: an extra Shopify charge that only applies if you don’t use Shopify Payments.
On top of those sit your product cost, shipping and advertising; the calculator subtracts all of them to give net profit, margin, break-even price and the maximum you can spend on ads per order before you lose money.
Shopify plan pricing in Poland (PLN)
Shopify lists Basic, Grow and Advanced in PLN; Plus is quoted in EUR. Annual billing lowers the effective monthly fee shown below.

Polish payment methods
Shopify Payments in Poland supports the local methods Polish shoppers expect. Each is selectable in the calculator’s advanced options:
- Standard card (Visa / Mastercard)
- American Express
- International / non-EEA card: Standard rate plus a 1% international surcharge.
- BLIK: Poland’s most popular online payment method, charged at a flat 1.3% + 1.20 zł on every plan.
- Przelewy24: Rate drops with your plan: 1.6% on Basic, 1.45% on Grow and 1.3% on Advanced, plus 1.20 zł.
- Klarna: Buy now, pay later. A flat 4.99% + 1.65 zł reflecting Klarna’s financing cost.
International cards carry a 1% surcharge over the standard rate. Local methods use Shopify’s published Poland rates. BLIK and Klarna are flat across plans, while Przelewy24 gets cheaper as you move up plans. Select any method in the calculator to see its exact effect on your margin.
Third-party gateway fees
If you use an external payment provider instead of Shopify Payments, Shopify adds a transaction fee on top of whatever your gateway charges: 2% on Basic, falling to 0.2% on Plus. Switch the calculator’s payment method to “Third-party provider” to enter your gateway’s own rate and see the combined cost.
For most Polish merchants, using Shopify Payments removes this fee entirely and is the cheaper route unless a specific gateway gives you a materially better processing rate.
VAT considerations
Prices and profit here exclude VAT. Poland’s standard VAT rate is 23% (with reduced 8%, 5% and 0% rates for some goods). Polish sellers should account for VAT registration thresholds, product taxability, EU cross-border (OSS/IOSS) rules and whether their displayed prices are VAT-inclusive.
This tool works in net (VAT-exclusive) terms. If your listed prices include VAT at 23%, convert to net before entering them so your margin reflects money you actually keep.
How this calculator works
Every figure is traceable to a formula:
- Processing fee = Price × rate% + fixed fee
- Plan allocation = Monthly plan fee ÷ Monthly order volume
- Break-even price = (fixed costs + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − variable fee rate)
- Max ad spend = profit per order before advertising is deducted
VAT is excluded throughout. The price-sensitivity table re-runs the full model at ±10/20/30% of your price so you can see how margin moves before you discount or raise prices.
Frequently asked questions
No. All figures are net of VAT so you can compare margins cleanly. Poland’s standard VAT rate is 23%. If your storefront prices are VAT-inclusive, divide by 1.23 to get the net selling price before entering it here, and remember output VAT is owed to the tax office, not kept as profit.
Basic (109 zł/month, or 79 zł/month billed annually) has the lowest subscription but the highest card rate (1.95% + 1.20 zł) and the highest third-party fee (2%). As order volume grows, the lower processing rates on Grow and Advanced can outweigh their higher subscription. Use the advanced options to allocate the monthly fee across your real order volume and compare.
All three are supported by Shopify Payments in Poland and each has its own published rate. BLIK is a flat 1.3% + 1.20 zł on every plan. Przelewy24 scales with your plan: 1.6% on Basic, 1.45% on Grow and 1.3% on Advanced, plus 1.20 zł. Klarna is 4.99% + 1.65 zł, reflecting its buy-now-pay-later financing. Annual billing cuts the effective monthly subscription (for example Basic drops from 109 zł to 79 zł per month). It does not change per-transaction processing rates. If your cash flow allows and you are committed to the platform, annual billing is the cheaper option.
