How Shopify fees work in Czech Republic
Selling on Shopify in Czech Republic means three separate costs eat into every order, and it is easy to under-count them. This calculator brings them together so you see real profit per unit, not just the headline margin on your product.
- Subscription: a fixed monthly plan fee, spread across the orders you actually take.
- Payment processing: a percentage of each sale plus a small fixed fee, charged by Shopify Payments or your gateway.
- Third-party transaction fee: an extra Shopify charge that only applies if you don’t use Shopify Payments.
On top of those sit your product cost, shipping and advertising; the calculator subtracts all of them to give net profit, margin, break-even price and the maximum you can spend on ads per order before you lose money.
Shopify plan pricing in Czech Republic (CZK)

Czech payment methods
Shopify Payments in Czech Republic supports the local methods Czech shoppers expect. Each is selectable in the calculator’s advanced options:
- Standard card (Visa / Mastercard)
- American Express: Amex costs 2.9% on Basic against 1.9% for a standard card, one full percentage point more.
- International card: Cards issued outside Czechia cost the same as Amex on every plan.
- Klarna: Flat 4.99% + 8.50 Kč on every plan.
Shopify Payments rates in Czechia fall with plan: 1.9% + 6.50 Kč on Basic, 1.8% + 6.50 Kč on Grow and 1.6% + 6.50 Kč on Advanced for standard online cards. Amex and international cards cost one point more, up to 2.9% on Basic. Klarna is priced separately at a flat 4.99% + 8.50 Kč. Other listed methods on the Czech pricing page (Bancontact, iDEAL, TWINT) simply mirror the standard card rate, so there is no separately priced Czech local method to model.
Third-party gateway fees
If you use an external payment provider instead of Shopify Payments, Shopify adds a transaction fee on top of whatever your gateway charges: 2% on Basic, falling to 0.2% on Plus. Switch the calculator’s payment method to “Third-party provider” to enter your gateway’s own rate and see the combined cost.
For most Czech merchants, using Shopify Payments removes this fee entirely and is the cheaper route unless a specific gateway gives you a materially better processing rate.
DPH considerations
The Czech standard DPH rate is 21%. Storefront prices are shown to consumers DPH-inclusive, so divide a 121 Kč selling price by 1.21 for the 100 Kč taxable base. Sellers shipping into Czechia from elsewhere in the EU charge Czech DPH once EU-wide cross-border sales pass the 10,000 € OSS threshold.
This tool works in net (DPH-exclusive) terms. If your listed prices include DPH at 21%, convert to net before entering them so your margin reflects money you actually keep.
How this calculator works
Every figure is traceable to a formula:
- Processing fee = Price × rate% + fixed fee
- Plan allocation = Monthly plan fee ÷ Monthly order volume
- Break-even price = (fixed costs + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − variable fee rate)
- Max ad spend = profit per order before advertising is deducted
DPH is excluded throughout. The price-sensitivity table re-runs the full model at ±10/20/30% of your price so you can see how margin moves before you discount or raise prices.
Frequently asked questions
Basic costs 670 Kč a month, or 499 Kč billed annually, with the highest rates: 1.9% + 6.50 Kč per online card payment and a 2% surcharge if you use an external gateway. Grow (1.8%) and Advanced (1.6%) cost less per transaction; the jump to Advanced at 9,510 Kč a month only pays once volume is genuinely high, so run your own numbers through the advanced options.
Both run one percentage point above the standard rate on every plan: 2.9% against 1.9% on Basic, 2.6% against 1.6% on Advanced, always plus 6.50 Kč per order. If a meaningful share of your customers pay with foreign cards, price that into your margin model rather than assuming the domestic rate.
The standard rate is 21%, and storefront prices include it. Divide a 121 Kč price by 1.21 to get the 100 Kč taxable base. Selling into Czechia from another EU country triggers Czech DPH only once your EU-wide distance sales pass the 10,000 € OSS threshold.
Connecting a gateway like PayPal or Stripe instead of Shopify Payments adds 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow, 0.6% on Advanced and 0.2% on Plus, on top of the gateway's own charges. For most Czech stores Shopify Payments works out cheaper once that stacking is counted.
Annual billing lowers the effective monthly fee on every plan: Basic from 670 Kč to 499 Kč, Grow from 1,830 Kč to 1,370 Kč, Advanced from 9,510 Kč to 7,130 Kč. Processing rates are identical either way, so the annual discount is straightforward savings once the store is staying put.
